Notes from the Arcanum: Zebhul (aka Machannon)

Zebhul, the 4th Heaven, is ruled by Michael. This is the heaven most elohim called home before the advent of Man. Still, many yet do, attending to their affairs, oblivious to the struggles ongoing in the material plane. All elohim lived here before the Symphony was unleashed in all its glory. Here still floats within a vast starry firmament on the edge of darkness that marks the infinite unworked possibilities of what can be, the First City. The First City is vast, with golden towers vaunting high above its streets and terraced gardens. It is a place of unparalleled beauty and awesome inspiration. The Symphony, heard as a multitude of voices, beats like a raw pulse here, naked for all to take part in, adding their own voices to the fabric of existence. All choirs live in the First City. They fly in countless numbers. The First City is home to the vast bulk of the second triad, and here is where these elohim keep their elohite hearts.
The City of the elohim has 12 walls, with 12 gates surrounding 12 impossibly huge towers, all built of gold, for that is a good conductor for the power that emanates from the Heavens above this Zebhul, called Machannon by some. Four rivers flow outward from the city, surrounding it and ultimately joining into two rivers that flow down to the 3rd Heaven. One river, called Phison, consists of divine honey, the Euphrates contains milk, the Geon, oil; and the Tigris, wine. In this city is also the Tree of Knowledge, forbidden to Man. This tree was eaten of by Adam and Eve, causing them to be dispelled from the garden of Eden, after which it was then transplanted to this heaven.
Most of the endaemonae live in this City.
