Submitting articles and written non- fiction content

If you know of a published game article, quote, web link, or resource that would benefit the players and visitors of these chronicles, please use the article submission form (link at bottomȩ. Article writers considering posting their work here, please review the information below.

Game aids, variants, and information about characters define a few of the topics for articles that are welcome additions to the Santa Cruz Chronicles. That's not to say that every game- article is going to find a home here. Submitted articles need to relate to these chronicles. Abstract chronicles, humorous variants, and such though they are useful, are just not useful to this game to justify posting. However, that being said, most articles will find a welcome home here.

Good netizens show respect and consideration. If you feel you are worthy of respect, then show respect for the rights of the writers, John, and the Santa Cruz Chronicles by not stealing any material you find here. Rights for display have been secured for this site only. If you wish yourself to use the material you see here, please inquire directly with the writer.

Any material that is found to have been taken without permission from the Santa Cruz Chronicles will instigate both contact by the S.C.C. with the owning writer to let them know of the theft, and with the webmaster of the domain that the material is found upon. Also, the effort to combat plagiarism will be pursued with utmost diligence. Further steps will be taken as warranted. If you have seen material that you know to have been taken from the S.C.C, please take a moment to use the form to let us know. We will take appropriate action. If you find material here on this site that you know is being used incorrectly (for example, you are the honest and truthful writer and you know you never gave permission) please use the same form to report the misuse. Generally, direct contact is initiated with writers before their material is used, including establishing verifiable contact information. This is done to help insure that the person offering the material is indeed the actual writer and owner.

Below are the various ways articles can be brought into the S.C.C. If you are a writer who would like to explore offering your work for display here; or if you are an audience member who knows of an game resource or web link we should look into, please use the attendant form to submit your information.

Terms for Article Use

Articles submitted here are done so with the understanding that rights are given by the writer to let the submitted material be archived here in perpetuity as long as this site remains a non-profit hobby site. The submitting writer retains all ownership and copywrite to the material. The submitter states clearly that the material being submitted is the creation and rightful property of the person submitting it.

All writers will receive text credit, and an option to have their e-mail address listed. E-mail addresses can be enabled or listed as text using unicode characters to help discourage harvesting of addresses by robots for spam purposes. Unless the writer stipulates, the default is to not list an e-mail address. If the writer asks for an e-mail address to be listed, unless she requests it to be an active link, it will be listed as text as described. All writers will also receive mention in the program page for chronicles that feature their work. Program credit can include a link to a web page or e-mail address if the writer so wishes.

Recommendation

If you are an audience member who knows of a writer, link, quote, or game aid that would benefit the S.C.C, please consider using the article submission form to let us know about it. You might want to glance at the terms but in any case, someone will check your recommendation out in due course. And accept our thanks in advance for your recommendation. Note that not all recommendations will result in that writer's work being used. There might be preconditions that preclude use; it might not be possible to establish clear title to use; or there might be other reasons. Nonetheless, we appreciate your taking the time to let us know.

Contribution

If you are a writer who has articles or game aids that you think would benefit the S.C.C. and would like to see them displayed here in return for credit and a return link to your site, please read the terms of use and then use the article submission form to let us know. In the event you should direct us to your own site, please indicate clearly which articles you are giving permission to use. Also, if you have a specific idea of where on the S.C.C. you would like your article to be used, please make note of that.

Please understand that not all articles that are suggested for contribution can actually be used, or can be used right away. We are always interested in articles but not all articles work as concepts for this site..

Also, as a matter of protection, if your contact information is not readily verifiable from your website, some small steps will need to be taken to establish direct contact and confirm contact information should ownership issues arise. Article use in the S.C.C. is taken very seriously and some small steps will be taken to help ensure that any person contributing the article is indeed the writer and owner of rights to that material. This helps writers by helping to see that persons do not try to pawn off someone else's work as their own.
